Apply for compensation Norway
If you have been affected by unemployment or been on sick leave, you can easily apply for compensation from the insurance on our website. Please contact us if you wish to seek compensation for other insurance coverage.
In case of unemployment, you must attach the following:
- Employment contract
- Termination/lay-off letter
- Notice of discussion meeting and/or minutes or minutes of discussion meeting (if you have one)
- Copy of the decision to grant unemployment benefit from NAV
If you are unemployed/laid off, you must be registered with NAV, receive unemployment benefit from NAV and laid off for more than 30 days to be entitled to compensation. We need payslips about unemployment benefit from NAV that show that you have been paid unemployment benefit (these can be found on your page on nav.no). The first 30 days you receive unemployment benefit from NAV is a deductible period, and when you pass day 31, compensation is paid. We must therefore have the first three payslips for unemployment benefit from NAV in order to process your case.
In order for us to process your case as quickly as possible, you must submit all documents we request. We therefore ask you to wait before submitting your insurance claim until you have all the documentation available.
You must identify yourself with Bank-ID in order to apply for compensation.
Keep in mind that your insurance does not provide compensation for:
- Sick leave or unemployment that started before your loan was disbursed.
- Unemployment due to own dismissal.
In case of illness/accident, you must enclose the following:
- Copy of all sick notes (part B) for the entire period you have been on sick leave or a medical certificate confirming diagnosis, grading (in %) for the entire period of sick leave.
- In addition, we need documentation for:
- Mental disorders: Referral or confirmation of treatment by a psychologist/psychiatrist
- Back/neck disorders: Findings from MRI, X-ray or other objective examinations
In order for us to process your case as quickly as possible, you must submit all documents we request. We therefore ask you to wait before submitting your insurance claim until you have all the documentation available.
